At Kalani, all proceeds from guest stays support education, community arts programming, and Hawaiian culture preservation within the District of Puna. Kalani has grown to become the largest provider of services in Puna – thanks to the support from guests like you!
As a membership-based 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit, all guests automatically become members of Kalani. As member of Kalani, you become part of our ʻohana, which means extended family in Hawaiian - and you join a global collective of individuals who share your appreciation of the aloha spirit, the beauty of nature, and the value of connecting to heritage.
At all other properties throughout Hawaiʻi, state taxes add 13.416% to your bill. Kalani asks visitors to donate an equivalent amount, a membership contribution, 100% of which is directly dedicated to mission-based programming. This membership contribution will be added to your folio; you are free to adjust the amount at your discretion. Your contribution may be tax-deductible where applicable by law.
These contributions help us sustain and increase the services we provide to the most economically challenged district in the state. We look forward to welcoming you, and trust that you will enjoy your stay, knowing that you are truly making a difference in our community.
