Kalani will host the Ānuenue Freedom Festival on Sunday, July 13th, a joyful, pride-themed celebration for all. We celebrate Ānuenue at Kalani the day after Hawaii Island Pride in Hilo on Saturday, July 12th. 

Ānuenue festivities will kick off at Kalani with Ecstatic Dance on Sunday morning, July 13 at 10:30 am, followed by an afternoon Superhero costume party by the pool. Bring your hula hoops and happy faces, and spend the day with us in jubilant and loving celebration of our LGBTQ brothers, sisters and allies. 

Special Pride-themed Ecstatic Dance:  10:30 am – 12:30 pm  

Open your heart and open your mind as you move your body to the transformational beats of special guest DJ Max Fathom, founder of the Ecstatic Dance movement. 
E-Dance Admission Price:  $15 donation sliding scale

Lunch on the Lanai:  12:00 pm – 1:00 pm 

Dine with us and celebrate the abundance of home-grown Hawaiian cuisine.  Everything is prepared with aloha, and infused with love by Kalani chefs and volunteers.

ZAP! BAM! WOW!  Superhero Pool Party:  1:00 pm – 4:00 pm 

Join your fellow costumed crusaders for an afternoon of superhuman fun! Show us your extraordinary creativity – with prizes awarded for the best costumes. Get your supernatural groove on to the sounds of DJ Maxwell – the best moves on the dance floor will receive a handsome reward! 

Feeling super spirited? Test your mettle in an array of games, from volleyball, to bocce ball, bean bag toss, ping pong, and others! Light refreshments will be provided by the Kalani Kitchen, and the Kalani Wellness Team will have you super-relaxed with poolside wellness rituals and massage samplings.    

Pool Party Admission: $10 – Costumed superheroes get a $5 discount!
