green sand beach So, you’ve seen plenty of white and golden sand beaches, and maybe even a black sand beach or two. But, have you ever been to a green sand beach?

At this unique site, the sand is actually fine grains of olivine (an iron-magnesium silicate) which has been liberally mixed with black sand. We’ll talk story, check out places of interest along the way, see the Kamoa Wind Farm, and stop at South Point, the Southern-most spot on the island (making it the Southern-most spot in the entire nation).

Next, we’ll take a fun 4WD excursion to the awesome, olive-colored phenomenon called Green Sand Beach, where the collapse of an ancient cinder cone created this precious treasure, hundreds of years ago, along Hawaii’s beautiful and secluded Southern Coast.
