About the Facilitator(s)
Pono N. Stadler was born in Switzerland and came to the Big Island 8 years ago, feeling Hawaiian at heart almost immediately and very much at home.
Her passion is to share the richness of the Hawaiian culture and mythology, and the importance of ALOHA in our every day life with all people.
Gena has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. Her studies began with Jilda Liddicut of the Gaia School of Yoga. She has continued expanding her yoga studies under the guidance of internationally renowned teacher Donna Farhi. Her teaching focuses on nurturing from the inside – out. This approach allows students of all levels of experience and from all traditions to build their own authentic Yoga practice.
“My connection to Hawaii and the spirit of Polynesia comes from a twenty year history of paddling outrigger canoes. Through my many travels to Hawaii, I have had the opportunity to discover the magic of the Polynesian Islands and peoples. In essence the spirit of the islands is "Aloha", which means to be kind, nurturing and loving to yourself, to others and to the planet.”
The creation of "`Ohana Yoga" comes from blending this 'magic' and 'spirit' into her own unique style of teaching. Gena has also authored a book and dvd "The Gift of Yoga".
Kent has a lifelong passion for the outdoors and an active lifestyle. From participating in sports from an early age right up to competing in 5 Ironman Triathlon events Kent has continued to find reasons to be outside. After spending fifteen years as a professional in the corporate world he followed his passion and currently owns and operates Kayak Melbourne a tour business in Australia, and assists Gena as partner in Ohana Yoga & Wellness.
He loves to facilitate helping others get active and have memorable adventures, ensuring his groups have fun filled, safe experiences. He has worked with diverse groups at all levels of fitness and age groups from high school students to Corporate Teams. He has a wealth of fitness related knowledge and is a trained Pilates instructor

About the Facilitator(s)
Susan Bowen. Studio owner of Thrive Yoga, Rockville, MD is a RYT500 and Certified ISHTA Yoga Instructor & Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Instructor. Susan’s classes are challenging and inspire students to explore the practice of unifying the breath, mind and body to a place of comfort from the common Western habit of distraction and discomfort.
Susan has studied and practiced more than 12 yoga styles and encourages students to explore what works for them in yoga without concern for the “right” way to practice. Susan was first introduced to yoga 20 years ago while in college and has studied and practiced yoga while traveling for 15 years in the corporate world. Because of many years in a high-stress job (tight shoulders and distracted mind), Susan sequences yoga classes to help students de-stress, de-tox and become more aware of their own vitality. Sometimes that means getting more fit through movement and breathing exercises… sometimes that means hands-on assistance to stretch an ailing or tight muscle! Susan cues her classes to inspire awareness of the whole being-physical, emotion, mental and spiritual.
Susan has been honored as a leading woman entrepreneur in Montgomery County, MD for over a decade. As the Director of Programming for Thrive Yoga, she has been responsible for bringing both classical and cutting-edge yoga and wellness programs and staff to the studio. Susan facilitates and lectures at corporate, non-profit, and government events and retreats on a variety of topics including: stress-management, goal setting, and techniques for greater vitality in a busy world.
Zoe Marae. Dr. Marae has a PhD in biological science. For 15 years, she did medical research on complex multi-system disease leading to a joint appointment at Harvard Medical School and Children’s Hospital, Boston. Zoe Marae is a scientist who believes in “magic” (Vibrational magic, that is). She playfully refers to herself as a “mapmaker” specializing in formats (maps) of higher personal energy flow. These very practical maps lead to transformation inside (peace and flow) as well as outside (new life attractions). Her “zoeisms” combine vibrational physics with graphic humor… functional and entertaining!

About the Facilitator(s)
This year nominated by his fellow-teachers of Westside Community Adult School (link) for the prestigious Platinum Apple Award for Teaching Excellence (given by the teacher's union, United Teachers, LA) , Glenn Hopkins recently received this note from his evaluating Principal, Mr.
Jim Chacon: "Your students are engaged and happy and obviously learning. It's always a pleasure to observe you."
And through the years his students from all over the globe have sung his praises:
"At first I was shy and 'tongue-tied.' But we of the international class became friends and really learned from each other." --Yaping Chen, China
"You're the only teacher who ever explained the 18 vowel sounds...and it's the most important thing to know about American pronunciation. Once I began pronouncing correctly I started to understand so much better what Americans talking fast to me were saying." --Thomas Geist, France
"He explains everything properly and clearly, and answers everyone's questions patiently. We all learned a lot not because he forced us to learn, but he made us learn by keeping the atmosphere of the class lively and friendly." --Asadullah Pashtun, Afghanistan (January 20, 2011)
And from a recent visitor to the level one (beginning, low) class:
"He exudes warmth and erudition...I consider his students lucky to have him." --Lucy Hahn, Master's Degree in teaching English as a Foreign Language.
"A familiar figure on the Los Angles theater scene, Glenn Hopkins has written over twenty plays melodramatic and hilarious, brash and sensitive, frustrating yet ultimately rewarding.Hopkins writes from the heart, exploring human verities as well as human foibles. His integrity and purpose shine through." -Dramalogue Magazine
What better setting for telling about our afternoon adventures on the gorgeous Big Island of Hawaii than a morning "heart circle" of new international friends with a trained (but unobtrusive) instructor of English to Adults with over 30 years of experience in moving people forward in their confidence and fluency?
