Restore Your Roar: a Re-boot Camp

Amanda Trusty & Olivia Petzy

January 13, 2016 - January 20, 2016

About the Facilitator(s)

Amanda Trusty is a tap dancer, body love advocate, and blogger at amandatrustysays.com. Known primarily for her viral tap burlesque video to Katy Perry's "Roar", where she stripped down to her skivvies at Kalani in November 2013 and peeled the words "cellulite" and "fat" off her body to make a statement, she is a writer and blogger bringing awareness to the body image and eating disorder crisis that faces the entertainment industry. After a performance career in New York City that spanned the course of a decade, Amanda is now a full-time dance teacher on the Big Island of Hawai’i. In 2014, she was featured as one of Huffington Post’s top women bringing body positivity to dance. She also writes for Sadie Jane dancewear. She is an expert on Nutella.

Olivia Petzy is a performer, Shrink Session sweat therapist, writer, and gummy candy connoisseur. She spent four years in a theater conservatory where she learned that she loved theme parties and hated the way her body moved when dancing so much that she cried in every dance class. Sometimes she had four in one day. That's a lot of crying. After moving to New York City, Olivia stumbled into a Shrink Session class and discovered that it was possible to move your body in a way that feels freeing. Life changed, she became obsessed with sharing her unique spin on the class and empowering others to move with ease and joy, regardless of their level of dance skill or athleticism. She is a popular comedian and host in NYC and is late for everything because she’s snuggling with her dog Walter.

Thrive - A Retreat for Lesbian/Bi Women

Kimberly Dark and Tiffany Jentsch

June 5, 2016 - June 10, 2016

Explore how you can truly THRIVE in your life with the loving support of a community of lesbian and bi women on the Big Island.

About the Facilitator(s)

Kimberly Dark is a master facilitator who has led groups to awareness and understanding on three continents over the past twenty years. In addition to teaching yoga since 1999, she’s a writer, sociologist and storyteller whose work has been invited to hundreds of colleges, universities, theatres, festivals and conferences. Gender, sexuality and sexual orientation are frequent themes - along with practicing radical self-love and acceptance in awareness of cultural context.

She blogs regularly for Huffington Post, Ms. Magazine and Decolonizing Yoga in addition to contributing essays and stories about personal and cultural transformation via body acceptance to a variety of books and publications.

As a yoga teacher, Kimberly uses an Iyengar-style training and more than twenty years experience with diverse yoga practices to challenge and welcome students of every ability and body type.  As a facilitator, her work on gender and sexuality explores the personal and cultural moments that cause us to connect or disconnect with life-expanding erotic urges.  All of her work encourages personal sovereignty, inner voice and an entitlement to health and vibrancy at all sizes, ages and abilities.

Tiffany Jentsch is a trainer and health coach who has presented over 200 seminars on topics of health, fitness, and behavior in more than 20 countries. Traveling the globe as a facilitator has given her insight to human behaviors across many cultures. Health and happiness means something different for everyone, but a common ground we all share-and that is necessary for our health and fulfillment-is identifying our thought patterns and learning the reasons why we make certain decisions.

Living in Hawaii has given Tiffany many gifts and she has been facilitating life-changing adventures to share with others the healing powers of Hawaii.

Combining her coaching skills with guided adventures has allowed her to enhance her ability to help people expand their views of themselves and create intentions for more vibrant living. www.BeAwesomeRetreats.com
