Watsu II

Alexis Lee

November 24, 2014 - November 29, 2014

Learn Watsu in HawaiiWatsu is a form of bodywork which is performed while floating in body-temperature water. The receipient of a Watsu treatment is supported by floats as well as the therapist, while the therapist gently stretches the body. The nature of performing bodywork in the water allows for the body to be stretched and manipulated in unique ways, that may not be possible on land.

About the Facilitator(s)

Alexis LeeAlexis Lee has been an Aquatic Bodyworker since 1996, working in Watsu, Healing Dance, Waterdance and Jahara. Alexis has taught Watsu since 2000 under the tutelage of Harold Dull, the founder of Watsu®.

Her passion for Watsu stems from the heart-centered connection she feels with each person who floats in her arms. Alexis encourages Watsu practitioners to come from a place of 'being', rather than 'doing', without agenda, thereby allowing each client's body to 'tell' them what it needs.

As a therapist, Alexis' experience in Shiatsu, Cranial Sacral, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lomilomi and Yogassage therapies enhance her water work.

Basic Watsu

Alexis Lee

November 17, 2014 - November 18, 2014

Learn Watsu in HawaiiBasic Watsu moves open all Watsu sessions and are the first third of what is taught in Watsu 1. In this 16 hour course you will learn a progression of moves that you can share with anyone.

About the Facilitator(s)

Alexis LeeMy love of Watsu® stems from the heart-centered connection I feel with the person floating in my arms. I believe Watsu® is a way of bringing awareness, groundedness and peace into our daily lives. Much more than a "technique" of aquatic bodywork; the surrender and trust, as well as physical flexibility experienced in a session is profound. I incorporate NVC and the unique style of Selwa Said Communication into the class as good and ethics are essential to the healing process.

My passion for Watsu has taken me from being a Montessori teacher, and 22 years of being a performance artist using mime, comedy and movement, into the healing arts. This has aided in my flowing style in sessions as well as creating a supportive, graceful, nonjudgmental learning environment in the classroom, adapted to individual learning styles.

Trained with the originators of Watsu & Healing Dance, with over 8,000 hours of Massage study and teaching, co-taught with Harold Dull; creator of Watsu, I bring my knowledge of land massage into my water-healing; ZenShiatsu, Energy Active Craniosacral, Yogasage, Lomilomi, to name a few.

The space of total presence and awareness that the giver provides in WaterTherapy, is the same space we can use to bring peace in our world, locally and globally. I’d love to share this space with everyone.
