Christy Ceraso
Christy has been studying and practicing holisitic healing arts for over 20 years. She began her personal healing journey and professional training with Humanistic, Jungian and Transpersonal Psychology, then re-discovered her wise, wild body through nature, dance, yoga, many styles of bodywork, gardening, painting, meditation, relationship, movement and performance art. She went on to study Process Oriented Psychology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Non-Violent Communication, and The TARA Approach. She has a BA. degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Somatic Psychology.
Christy’s specialty is emotional healing and trauma resolution with a somatically based orientation. She is passionate about the integration of soma-psyche-spirit. She has been on the staff of healers at Kalani for 10 years and licensed in Hawaii for 11 years. She is constantly incorporating new information into her work, and loves to teach other bodyworkers what has best served her clients and own healing process.

Daniel Albers
Daniel Albers, LMT has practiced massage on the Big Island of Hawaii since 1993. He currently serves on the massage staff at Kalani Oceanside Retreat and maintains a private practice in Hilo, HI. His practice focuses on Lomilomi, deep tissue, structural release and aromatherapy. He has been conducting Lomilomi massage workshops for the past 14 years at schools and retreat centers on the Big Island and in California, Washington State and Canada. His teaching style strives to incorporate a balance of humor and intensity. The classes are fast-paced and geared toward intermediate to advanced level students/therapists. This course fulfills the State of Hawaii requirements for a general overview course in human anatomy. All body systems are covered, with special attention to those most relevant to massage therapy.
About the Facilitator(s)
Dr. Mark Olson
Dr. Mark Olson has taught anatomy and kinesiology at Kalani numerous times. He is the former director of the Massage Therapy Program at Pioneer Pacific College in Oregon, and a former faculty member at the Traditional Chinese Medicine College of Hawai`i (TCMCH) and the Big Island Academy of Massage.
Dr. Olson is a licensed massage therapist in Hawaii and a certified Watsu practitioner. He has an M.A. in Education and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, specializing in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuropsychology and Neuroanatomy, which he has taught at TCMCH and for graduate and medical students at the University of Illinois.
Dr. Olson's neuroscientific perspective on massage and the human being is both unique and accessible. In this class, all major systems of the body are covered, with emphasis on those most relevant to massage therapists as well as the actions of all of the muscles. The information is presented using multiple techniques (lecture, powerpoint, handouts, drawing, movement, etc) that appeal to all learning styles.
This intensive is a 206 hour introductory course covering Human Anatomy and Physiology, as well as the history, theory and demonstration of a variety of massage techniques. Our goal is to prepare students with a strong technical foundation as well as to inspire them to open their heart and delight in the gift of touch.

The focus of FreeFall 1 is "body image", that is, learning to understand the masking nature of the self image and the restrictions it has over us. FreeFall 1 explores self image by stripping off this mask of coping. The "Coping Mask" is a matrix of fears, judgments, beliefs and behaviors that restrict an individual from embracing and loving life. FreeFall 1 participants will be individually assessed and facilitated through a series of exercises to move beyond these restrictions.

The body and communication have been key elements for inspiring and shaping Kristy's background. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Special Interest Rehabilitative Medicine (Speech Pathology and Audiology). She entered into bodywork as a Massage Therapist and later became an Instructor for accredited Massage Colleges in both Alberta and British Columbia.
Extensive postgraduate studies in manual therapies eventually led her to explore a presentation by Dr. John Veltheim on The BodyTalk System. Kristy embraced this state of the art approach to synchronizing the bodymind, and quickly recognized that the BodyTalk System is truly the most holistic and complete health care system. Kristy's enthusiasm for The BodyTalk System has lead her through all the BodyTalk System Modules, the PaRama Life Sciences, Orthopedic Evaluations, and currently to the cutting-edge PaRama College Diploma Program.
Kristy's interests also include the transformational work of discovering our human potential found in the The PaRama Life Science work developed by John & Esther Veltheim.
