Nia Whitebelt Intensive

About the Facilitator(s)

Nia gives me the opportunity to live my dream and create a sacred livlihood that inspires everyone I meet to live into their greatness. As of December 3, 2009 - my dream is now activated in the Hawaiian Islands - both on Maui and in the jungle of Puna. I found Nia in 1997 after many years of searching for a way to move my body with passion and ease. My backround is in Theatre Arts, West African Dance, Modern Dance, Contact Improvisation, Contemplative Dance and early years riding horses and jumping hurdles both on and off of the horse. I have managed three Nia studios, created my own Movement/theater practice and company, become one of 16 Nia Educational Trainers and most recently worked inside of the Nia Technique company as in house White Belt Trainer, StudioNia Director and Guest Teacher. I have worked with Debbie Rosas on the Awakening The New Feminine Spirit Art Project as well as Nia 5 Stages certification and training. My personal work, beingLoved, a somatic movement meditation process, is being offered as a support and enrichment of the Nia work. I am passionate about healing, the creative process, and empowering people to find the life that most wants to live through them.

Couples in Paradise | Yoga of Love Retreat

Joyce and Barry Vissell

We are excited to be leading our 25th Hawaii retreat at Kalani Honua. These retreats have exceeded all our expectations, and have been truly life-changing for each couple that has attended. We focus on seeing our partner with new eyes, healing dysfunctional patterns, renewal, communication, making amends for past hurts, deepening the sexual relationship, and filling the cup of love with our partner.

About the Facilitator(s)

Ram Dass calls Joyce and Barry Vissell “true bhaktis,” a couple who live the yoga of love and devotion. They are a nurse and medical doctor deeply in love for 45 years, who have raised three children and “walk their talk.” Their model of relationship and deeply heart-oriented approach have made a unique impact upon many thousands of people’s lives. As a result of the world-wide interest in their books, The Shared Heart, Models of Love, Risk To Be Healed, The Heart’s Wisdom, and Meant To Be, they have been conducting talks and workshops on relationship, parenting and personal growth. They are the founders and directors of the Shared Heart Foundation (www.sharedheart.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to changing the world one heart at a time. The Vissells write a monthly column on 'living from the heart' that appears in about 80 publications worldwide.

Charley “Special guest musician Charley Thweatt is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and recording artist who has opened thousands of hearts around the world with his musical gifts. His intuitively chosen songs accelerate soul healing for the couples.”

FreeFall 1 - Dare to Live

Kristy Kenny

December 2, 2010 - December 6, 2010

The focus of FreeFall 1 is "body image", that is, learning to understand the masking nature of the self image and the restrictions it has over us. FreeFall 1 explores self image by stripping off this mask of coping. The "Coping Mask" is a matrix of fears, judgments, beliefs and behaviors that restrict an individual from embracing and loving life. FreeFall 1 participants will be individually assessed and facilitated through a series of exercises to move beyond these restrictions.

About the Facilitator(s)

Kristy KennyThe body and communication have been key elements for inspiring and shaping Kristy's background. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Special Interest Rehabilitative Medicine (Speech Pathology and Audiology). She entered into bodywork as a Massage Therapist and later became an Instructor for accredited Massage Colleges in both Alberta and British Columbia.

Extensive postgraduate studies in manual therapies eventually led her to explore a presentation by Dr. John Veltheim on The BodyTalk System. Kristy embraced this state of the art approach to synchronizing the bodymind, and quickly recognized that the BodyTalk System is truly the most holistic and complete health care system. Kristy's enthusiasm for The BodyTalk System has lead her through all the BodyTalk System Modules, the PaRama Life Sciences, Orthopedic Evaluations, and currently to the cutting-edge PaRama College Diploma Program.

Kristy's interests also include the transformational work of discovering our human potential found in the The PaRama Life Science work developed by John & Esther Veltheim. Kristy is certified to teach the PaRama Life Sciences and is a BreakThrough Level 1 Intructor, a FreeFall Level 1 Instructor, and a Mindscape Level 1 Instructor.

Travel options: Hawai`i is the Aloha State’s largest, most spectacular and least crowded island, with 2 major airports – Hilo and Kona. Because Hilo (the State’s second largest city) is just a 45 minute drive to Kalani, we recommend that you route through Honolulu to Hilo. If you are not renting a car, Kalani provides a shuttle from/to Hilo airport only. Fee each way is reduced to $40 for conference participants.  There are direct flights to Kona, however you must rent a car for the 3 hour drive to/from Kalani, which provides opportunity to view the verdant northern or vast southern land-and-seascapes.

Upon receipt of your email we will send you a confirmation and a packet of information regarding traveling here and your stay, along with further details about the conference program.

For travel from the mainland, check the airlines below as they offer very reasonable fares: southwestairlines.com and hawaiianairlines.com.
