Bloom Into You

Tigmonk

December 13, 2015 - December 18, 2015

This year's Bloom into You 2015 Retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii, is playfully promised to offer a transformative experience of fear-shattering liberation and real life conscious evolution.

About the Facilitator(s)

Tiger Singleton, aka Tigmonk, is a 34-year-old joyful Business Entrepreneur, Author, Speaker, and the Founder of The School of Blooming. He is also regarded by many to be a mondern-day-mystic, someone who is in intimate communication with the source of life.

His past has been riddled with challenges, including but not limited to… teenage attempts at suicide, dropping out of school, and severe drug addiction. If that wasn’t enough, as he entered into adulthood he experienced homelessness, complete financial failure in the form of bankruptcy; drawing on low-income housing and governmental assistance. The pinnacle point occurred when he was with severe depression and morbid obesity, reaching 280 lbs.

Around that time, Tiger started to have profound internal experiences, which he says are impossible to describe with words and stories. “It was like my heart was literally ripped open and I was forced to see things I didn’t want to see; this being (in part) that I was 100% responsible for my shitty Life. The more I became open to this understanding, the more my life was turned upside down by a cosmic force that demanded my attention. It was as if, through a complete willingness to surrender my own personal will, Life shared with me tremendous insight into the nature of Self & Reality.”

Over the past 10 years, Tiger has been integrating this profound insight into his own life experience. The consequence of which, has led to the effortless shedding of more than 100 lbs, business success that offers tremendous freedom of time and energy, the end of any problematic emotional states, profound relationships with others, and a Joy for Life that constantly -yet playfully- threatens tears of complete gratitude.

Today, Tiger runs a successful Freight Brokerage Agency, has written 2 books: An Explosion of Love and Intimacy with the Silent Nothing that is Everything, with more in the works. He has given over 200 talks, workshops, and lectures on the subject of Internal Love and Direct Connection with All That Is. He splits his time residing on the Big Island of Hawaii and in Southern Oregon.

Toby is currently studying Reiki.  He has served as Director of Youth Prevention Programs for a rehabilitation center and as Director of Environmental Education for a children's science museum. Working in the fields of health and environmental education taught Toby to "practice what he preaches."  He created his business, Shekhinah Holistic, from his desire to help others discover their true essence, and thus, create balance, harmony, and fulfillment.  He focuses on the whole person, believing that a healthy body opens the pathway for a clear mind and infinite spiritual growth.  "When you take the Universe and its possibilities out of the box, you unlimit yourself."

Yoga in Paradise, Week 1

Lynne Minton

January 9, 2016 - January 16, 2016

Yoga in Paradise 2016! Enjoy a relaxing and fun-filled Yoga Vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii at Kalani. This will be an all level group with and easy to moderate pace, plenty of instruction in adaptations,  and alternatives to postures as needed.  Those with more experience will have opportunity for more challenge.

About the Facilitator(s)

Lynne took her first yoga class while in college, at the YMCA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Her first instructor and mentor, Trudy Davis, encouraged her to teach when she moved to Alaska in 1977. She enrolled in the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco’s Teacher Training Program the summer of 1980. Encouraged by Donald Moyer, she attended her first yoga Intensive at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India in 1981. She was certified to teach yoga by BKS Iyengar in 1984. Subsequent trips to Pune followed in 1988 and 1997.

Lynne founded the Inner Dance Yoga Studio in 1982 in Anchorage, Alaska and oversaw  its growth and development into a thriving center with 20 plus instructors for the next 26 years. She  started the Inner Dance Teacher Training program in 1999 which  trained over 100 yoga teachers in the 8 years of her  oversight of the program. Lynne sold the Inner Dance Yoga Studio in 2008. She now travels the country and the world teaching yoga wherever she is invited.

Lynne  draws inspiration from yoga on and off the mat,  attending local classes and  sharing practice with others. She honors her  teachers of  the Iyengar  tradition, Judith Lasater, Donald Moyer, and Fr. Joe Pereira. Self-Realizaion Fellowship, Paramahansa Yogananda's organization, to which she was first exposed in 1978 is another continuing source of upliftment.

Yogananda says, "The true purpose of life is to realize one's Self as wisdom and bliss". Patanjali's yoga sutra book II, sutra 41 (Light on Yoga Sutras, BKS Iyengar translation) states, "When the body is cleansed, the mind purified and the senses controlled, joyful awareness needed to realize the inner Self, also comes." My mission statement is to help myself and others to awaken joyful awareness through the practices of yoga; asanas that cleanse the body, pranayama that calms the mind, concentration that controls the senses, and meditation for realizing the Inner Self.

Lynne grew up in Wisconsin. Her love of travel and degree in Environmental Geology brought her to play and work in Alaska in 1975. That year she met future husband, Jim, and together they made Alaska home. They have been married since 1978. Together they enjoy camping, flying, overseas travel and their wonderful community of family and friends. Lynne also loves to sing, hula, play her ukelele,  garden, bike and hike. She is in the process of relocating to Prescott, Arizona.
