Painting the Big Island's Puna Coastal Paradise
Arthur Johnsen
Join Arthur Johnsen and friends along the spectacular south-east coast of Hawai'i Island, where native jungle, sea cliffs, crashing waves and distant lava plumes will inspire our art experiments and masterpieces. We'll review oil-painting basics and compositional approaches, and explore techniques for achieving the jewel tones, vibrant light and expressive atmosphere so special to this region. Our retreat will include demonstrations and one-on-one tutorial work to help participants enjoy and expand their skills, and will include ample time for experiencing this unique enclave of old Hawai'i.
Intended for those with some visual arts experience; drawing is especially helpful. Materials and easels can be provided for a nominal extra fee.
