Advanced (300 Hour) Yoga Teacher Training
The Soma Yoga Institute's Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course is designed specifically for those who are ready to deepen their knowledge base, teach with more authenticity, expand their repertoire and increase their efficacy in offering yoga as a vehicle for positive personal and planetary transformation and change.
The curriculum includes a therapeutically oriented approach to yoga, multidimensional sequencing, holistic alignment concepts, instructing level 2 poses, individualized mentoring, philosophy, meditation, pranayama, Ayurveda and so much more. The program is open to yoga teachers from all disciplines with six months or more teaching experience (or by permission). RYTs with a 200-hour certification will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-500 hour level upon successful completion of this program.

The rates listed below are all-inclusive and provide access to all instruction and course activities, meals, accommodations, and use of Kalani's amenities including our 25-meter pool and hot tubs.

Kalani offers shuttle service from Hilo International Airport (ITO), which can be arranged via Kalani Guest Services, [email protected] or 808.965.0468. Please send flight details, including airline carrier and flight number with your shuttle request. We also pick up from the downtown Hilo bus station and hotels. Shuttle service is subject to availability; one-way pricing is $50 per person for shared rides and $75 per person for single bookings. If you require airport shuttle service, please contact us to make your reservation a minimum of one week in advance.
Taxi service is available from ITO or Hilo Downtown for a one-way fare of approximately $125.
Cancellations up to 7 days in advance of arrival incur a $75 administrative fee. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival incur forfeiture of fees paid up to $250. No refund will be provided for no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled arrival, 4:00 pm on check-in date. No refund will be provided for early departures from retreat programs. Participation in any parts of programs at Kalani Honua is completely voluntary.
Kalani Honua reserves the right to dismiss a participant at any time before, during or after a program if one:
- Becomes dangerous or harmful to self, others, or property
- Behaves disruptively or inappropriately
- Is not able, for whatever reason, to be present for learning
- Breaks the law
- Refuses to cooperate with program leaders or Kalani Honua management
- Does not pay accordingly for program or services provided
Liz Heffernan, MA, E-RYT 500
Liz Heffernan is an international yoga teacher and Integrative Yoga Therapist (CYT-1000). She draws from over two decades of personal yoga practice, 20 years of teaching and extensive training in the Hatha yoga systems of Kripalu, Ashtanga and Anusara. She currently directs and leads yoga teacher trainings and workshops in worldwide locations, provides unique one-to-one mentoring for yoga teachers wishing to improve their skills and delivery, instructs daily yoga classes and offers private therapeutic sessions.
Liz also serves as a mentor and faculty member for the Integrative Yoga Therapy - Professional Yoga Therapy program. She is known is for her ability to bridge the gap between the ancient perspectives of yoga and contemporary daily life. Her teaching weaves together philosophy, creative sequencing, clear alignment, mindful breathing and compassionate self-inquiry to form a tapestry that reflects her heartfelt commitment to this transformative path.

Molly Masaoka, E-RYT 500
Molly Masaoka, E-RYT 500, Yoga Studio Owner Innately perceptive beyond her years, and wildly passionate about everything in her path, Molly applies a level of determination and delight that is truly one of a kind. Her unique teaching style is both intense and focused but lightened with creativity, compassion, and humor. She believes that this balance of effort and surrender is the key to unlocking the awareness of one's true nature. A student of yoga since the age of 16, Molly has studied intensely with Chuck Miller and completed teacher trainings with Annie Carpenter and Don Stapelton. She credits Annie for giving her the skills to teach intentional alignment and sequencing, Don for the ability to encourage self-inquiry and Chuck for finding the unity in all things. In addition to leading teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats, Molly also owns Yoga Centered Studio and Boutique in Hilo, Hawaii. She is an influential member of her yoga community and serves as a mentor to both students and other teachers. Ultimately she hopes to inspire others to share the practices of yoga that have so positively impacted her life.
