Purusha Yoga Chakra Journey Retreat
Each of the seven major Chakra centers are related to specific physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic qualities. It is at each of these seven locations that subtle forces and bodily functions merge into each other.
In this course, you will discover that every chakra is present in the entire body and field of consciousness as well. In this course, you will learn specific conscious practices that will penetrate this multi-dimensional realm, including:
Study of the ancient texts that include the Chakras such as the Vedas, Hatha Yoga, Tibetan Mysticism, and Tantric Yoga. Modern Research and Emotional Growth as it relates to the Chakras. Specific techniques of applying the known psycho-spiritual and emotional dimensions of each Chakra to the physical body and the mind. Guided Meditation techniques for the purposes of overall intake of individual clients as well as specific meditations for each of the seven major Chakras. Bio-energetics, postures, sound, mantra, breathing, and touch for each Chakra center. Authentic movement and art as a means of allowing the student to identify with deep-rooted emotions blocked energy and patterns. Exercises to rest, rejuvenate, and replenish each of the seven Chakras utilizing breath, restorative postures, conscious communication and lifestyle habits. Neuromuscular re-education as well as re-patterning habits of the mind/body to other systems such as endocrine, immune, digestive and reproductive.

Kalani retreat rates are all-inclusive and provide access to meals, accommodations, and use of Kalani's amenities including our clothing-optional 25-meter pool and hot tubs. Kalani cannot pro-rate fees for late arrivals or early departures. Registration for the full retreat experience is required.

Kalani offers shuttle service from Hilo International Airport (ITO), which can be arranged via Kalani Guest Services, [email protected] or 808.965.0468. Please send flight details, including airline carrier and flight number with your shuttle request. We also pick up from the downtown Hilo bus station and hotels. Shuttle service is subject to availability; one-way pricing is $50 per person for shared rides and $75 per person for single bookings. If you require airport shuttle service, please contact us to make your reservation a minimum of one week in advance.
Taxi service is available from ITO or Hilo Downtown for a one-way fare of approximately $125.
Cancellations up to 7 days in advance of arrival incur a $75 administrative fee. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival incur forfeiture of fees paid up to $250. No refund will be provided for no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled arrival, 4:00 pm on check-in date. No refund will be provided for early departures from retreat programs. Participation in any parts of programs at Kalani Honua is completely voluntary.
Kalani Honua reserves the right to dismiss a participant at any time before, during or after a program if one:
- Becomes dangerous or harmful to self, others, or property
- Behaves disruptively or inappropriately
- Is not able, for whatever reason, to be present for learning
- Breaks the law
- Refuses to cooperate with program leaders or Kalani Honua management
- Does not pay accordingly for program or services provided
For over 20 years, Joy Ravelli has led workshops, retreats, and yoga teacher trainings. Joy is the co-owner and founder of Purusha Studio and School in San Francisco, CA. She is also the founder of the Purusha Seva Project, a non-profit organization that brings powerful yoga practices to underserved and at-risk populations throughout the Bay Area and the world. Joy brings a powerful sense of authenticity, humor, light, and natural wisdom to her classes, encouraging students to explore, discover and express their true-self (purusha) in a safe and deeply inspiring atmosphere. Joy is a Certified Yoga Therapist with a master-level of experience and knowledge in the fields of natural fitness, somatic movement, Thai yoga bodywork, martial arts, pilates, and classic yoga. She enjoys meditating and practicing with diverse people, places, animals, children, and nature while celebrating all the connected magic in this world.
