Sacred Self – Yoga & Wellness Retreat for Caregivers & Community Warriors: Healing & Transforming Relationships

Sacred Self - Yoga & Wellness Retreat for Caregivers & Community Warriors

Part 2: Healing & Transforming Relationships

The second iteration of our Sacred Self Retreat series! Wellness by Micole & Gather for Good, Inc. welcome all those who provide healing, hope, and care for others to give themselves an opportunity to heal and be renewed…!  Whether you are a helping professional, community advocate, or a full-time caregiver in any capacity, we recognize that you are called to heal and serve others. Sacred Self Wellness Retreats are designed to revitalize and give back to those who are in dedicated service to others.

Healing work can often be physically, emotionally, and energetically taxing, and can take us to the limits of our capacity to stay centered in ourselves and connect with others. This year our Sacred Self Retreat will focus on addressing our personal and professional relationships…being in service to others and to a greater purpose can consistently test our capacity to hold onto healthy and fulfilling relationships, no matter the love form.  How do we balance giving and receiving?  How do we recognize a fulfilling connection versus a toxic and unproductive one?  How can we shift patterns of codependency to interdependency, and trust in ourselves and our partners?  We will practice, meditate, explore, share, release, and find answers in a positive environment of humor and authenticity. This retreat is open to individuals and couples.

This retreat includes daily yoga practice & Healing Relationship guided group & partner activities, with the mornings focused on heating and detoxifying via a Hatha/Vinyasa approach, and the evenings dedicated to a restorative practice with guided pranayama, moving and seated meditation. All week our yoga and Healing Relationship practice will be dedicated to raising the vibration of the heart chakra. Also included is one 75-minute bodywork/massage session, access to Kalani's spa & amenities, and visits to the rich & beautiful landscape of Puna including Volcanoes National Park, local hot ponds, and Kehena Black Sand Beach. In honor of our theme and the sacredness of this Hawaiian ancestral land, we also offer an optional Community Giveback activity for those who wish to give thanks to the aina & local community for our hosting our amazing retreat!

Priscilla Dyer
Priscilla is the Founder and Executive Director of Gather for Good, Inc., whose mission is to cultivate positive change in our society by supporting grassroots nonprofit organizations, providing them with services that better enable them to carry out their charitable endeavors. Gather for Good supports grassroots nonprofits by hosting events to raise funds for their programs, advocating for & empowering the communities they serve via conferences, workshops & media outlets, and recruiting & managing volunteers for their special projects, both here in the U.S. and abroad. Utilizing innovative vehicles for fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer recruitment, Gather for Good empowers nonprofits to best serve their communities. Priscilla has a background of 12 years in accounting/financial analysis and 12 years in nonprofit administration, most recently focused on communications and technology. Her passion is for human rights and social justice, with an emphasis on the empowerment of women and girls on a global scale. For over 17 years, she worked and volunteered with various nonprofits in such roles as: board member, mentor for pregnant teens, tutor, hospice counselor, international development worker (focused on African communities) and emergency room advocate/counselor for the survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. After years of service (in New York City, Haiti and South Africa) and observing the struggle of some of these organizations attempting to fulfill their missions with limited resources, Priscilla decided to start a nonprofit that supports their humanitarian goals. "Cultivating a Culture of Compassion" is a mantra she holds dear, and what she hopes to accomplish through building community with like-hearted individuals.
