Purusha Yoga Thai Yoga Bodywork Retreat
“To touch can be to give life. ” — MICHELANGELO
Connect to your own natural ability to heal yourself and others through Traditional Thai Yoga bodywork. The ancient practice of Thai Yoga Body Work is understood to be a physical application of Metta or 'loving kindness' using basic yoga poses as the foundation for applied & assisted stretching. You are invited to join this retreat with a partner/friend or on your own, and ample time and space will be given for couples and friends to connect, or for folks to meet new friends to share with. This is a unique opportunity to drop into a relaxed atmosphere of giving and receiving, in a spectacular tropical setting. You will learn that this art is given in a meditative mood, which begins with centering and surrendering into a spiritual and healing environment. All practices are appropriate for all levels of expertise and experience.
Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork has been practiced for thousands of years and was shared casually between family members and throughout communities. The practice is done with clothing on and can be performed easily in almost any setting.
This retreat is based on the tradition of the highly acclaimed lineage of the Sunshine Network from Chiang Mai, Thailand and is paired with other yogic and healing techniques of breathing, energy, movement, and meditation. This retreat is recommended for any one who would love to learn more about the healing ways of touch, energy, breath and movement and how to share these subtle practices with loved ones, family, students, clients and community.

Amal Bisharat is a Certified 500hr Advanced Yoga Teacher, Retreat Leader, and Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner, with a deep passion for sharing with others the benefits that yoga has brought to her life. She received her training at Purusha Yoga School in San Francisco, CA in 2012. Her approach to the ancient health system of yoga is based on the 8-limb path to a more authentic connection with your true unshakeable self. One of 8 limbs of yoga is, of course, the Asana practice (the poses), and we use these poses to bring about good physical health with increased strength and flexibility. Amal's asana sequences are creative and varied, intuitive & flow-y, and it is her hope that you leave classes and sessions feeling good in your body.
