Hawaii Massage School: Massage Fundamentals | February 11 - March 20, 2017

This introductory massage course provides students with the fundamental skills and confidence required to perform a general full-body relaxation massage, using Swedish massage techniques. Students also learn the purposes, effects, and contraindications of massage, as well as the history and current Hawaii State laws governing massage. Practical knowledge of good hygiene, proper draping, effective body mechanics and self-care is taught, as well as professional ethics and boundaries.
Class sessions will be held from 11am-12pm and 1pm-4pm on February 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27, March 4, 6, 11, 13, 18 & 20.
About the Facilitator(s)
Amy Doff attended the Hawaiian Islands School of Body Therapies, in Kealakekua, from 2000 to 2001. She completed almost 1,000 hours of soft-tissue rehabilitation/medical massage coursework and developed a passion for addressing acute and chronic injuries. She has been practicing massage for the past 15 years. Amy is passionate about utilizing the opportunities we have as Massage Therapists to share self- awareness and health education with our clients.
Amy has completed advanced degrees in: Public Health, focusing on Health Policy and Management (MPH, UH Manoa, 2010), Anthropology (BA, UH Hilo, 2006), and Occupational Safety & Health (Minor, UH Hilo, 2006) as well as a Permaculture design certificate (Hawaiian Sanctuary, 2014).

Tuition-only price: $645
Course tuition includes lunch during class days and access to kalani's lanai amenities.
Required Text: $30 Course Manual (available for purchase on the 1st day of class)
50% of tuition balance is due upon registration. The remaining 50% balance payment is due on or before the day the course begins. Full payment is required in order for students to participate in the first day of the course.
Students who request cancellation 30 days or more prior to the course start date will receive a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations requested within 30 days prior to the course start date will result in a 50% refund of monies paid.
