Welcome to Kalani Oceanside Retreat Village

Where lava meets the sea...

Lava meets the sea Life is exuberant here at Kalani, only five miles from the Waikupanaha plume where the lava flows into the sea. Exuberant in fiery lava, in water, in tropical foliage, and exuberant too in people and the spirit of aloha. We are blessed to be upwind! No vog (volcanic smog) here, just the sweet, clean air of the Northeast Trades coming across thousands of miles of Pacific Ocean.

Come visit us on our tropical peninsula and experience one of the most awesome sights in the world.

Kalani's Plant of the Month

kukuiThe Kukui is the official State tree of Hawaii and is also known as the Candlenut tree because the oil in the nut was used for torches by the ancient Hawaiians. It has medicinal properties and was once roasted and served as pupus. Today the oil is used in hand lotions and furnisher polish. Kalani has several one gallon starts available for $5.00. (Sorry, no shipping!)
