Buddhi is a high energy practice that encourages individuals to push through perceived limitations and transcend into personal power and freedom. Buddhi combines energetic yoga techniques, focused breathwork and advanced body movements fused with explosive music in an upward momentum that connects the body with mind and spirit. Through circular breathing, we will enter an altered state of consciousness to awaken and restore old emotional patterns in the nervous system. Everything we have ever experienced is held within our cellular memory. Breathwork can help to access deeper realms within ourselves, and bring them to the surface of our consciousness, so they can be felt and released. This is a combination of biodynamic, body de-armoring, Osho- pulsation and emotional release breathwork. *Not recommended if you’re pregnant, have high blood pressure, have severe mental illness, or a recent injury. “Many hands make light work” is the intention behind our Laulima work parties! Learn and share new skills in a fun collaborative setting by participating in lively projects that nurture the land and community.

Move with the breath and strengthen your core! This class begins with some gentle seated stretches and sun salutations to get the blood flowing, followed by standing asanas (postures), and Pilates inspired exercises to strengthen the core. Modifications will be given for the beginning student and advanced options will be provided for the more experienced yogi.

Kumsa grew up on the island of Hawaii and received her yoga teacher training at Kalani Honua from Peak Beings. Her background includes gymnastics, contortion, and mindfulness, which have shaped her approach to teaching yoga. She has taught small group classes at her university in Costa Rica and has continued teaching since returning home to Hawaii. In her Dynamic Power Vinyasa class, she focuses on building energy, strength, and balance. The class incorporates dynamic flow movements, progressions into handstands, balancing, flexibility, and stillness. While the class is open to all levels with modifications, it’s best suited for intermediate students who want to work on handstand balances and develop flexibility through strength-based movement.
