Immersion into the Heart of Yoga with Kim Smarr

Kimberlea Smarr

April 10, 2016 - April 15, 2016

Immersion into the Heart of Yoga 2016! Enjoy a nurturing and immersive Yoga Vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii at Kalani. This will be an all level group. This retreat will provide a daily workshop (90 minutes) in the morning and an evening meditation/restorative practice (45min).

About the Facilitator(s)

Kimberlea Smarr
Kimberlea Smarr, E-RYT 200 hour.

Breathe, Love, Live Fully...Kim is a disciple of these three things. She is a constant student of life via her 4 unique and brilliant children. Kim began her yoga journey at home in the midst of chaos. She created a home yoga sanctuary one hour a day and that sanctuary transformed her life. In 2008 she journeyed to Rishikesh, India for her first 200 hour teacher training. When she returned, she began teaching in a rural Colorado town that has blossomed into thriving yoga community thanks to her humor, down-to-earth approach, and heart-felt teaching style.

Kim continues to teach locally and has branched out to neighboring cities teaching workshops on chakras as well as alignment. She teaches for conferences and large companies like New Belgium Brewery when they need a special person to lead yoga in the workplace. She has also appeared on YogaToday.com as a co-star in 6 episodes.

Her continued training includes well over 300 additional teacher-training hours with Master teacher, Jeanie Manchester of Boulder, Colorado in Anusara and Hatha traditions, with an emphasis on alignment and therapeutics as well as tantric philosophy. She has taken yoga groups to Costa Rica and Mexico on retreats that are transformative, healing, fun and relaxing.

One of her greatest joys is teaching to heal. Healing is accessible through creative yet purposeful therapeutic asana. However, she infuses the wisdom of tantric yoga philosophy to create balance and skillful awareness that translates into our everyday. Her teaching experience is broad but she finds delight in introducing brand new students to this life affirming practice and pushing advanced practitioners to dive deeper. Whether you are new to yoga, advanced in yoga or somewhere in between, Kim creates a comfortable, safe learning environment for all.

Soul Renewal Retreat

Brook Cheatham

About the Facilitator(s)

Brook Cheatham

Empowered, a word I live by.

All of us have the ability to overcome things in our lives. Defining moments in our "story" give us a choice, the courage to either become our truth, or live in a lie.

Before yoga came into my life, I was a young mother, strapped to a corporate job, with  laundry list full of guilt, shame and baggage from a turbulent youth.  Fitness goals led me to yoga, and yes, I became physically strong, but slowly I began to notice changes occurring  in my actual nature.  The baggage from my past started to slowly get stripped away.  I began to realize who I was deep down, and deep inside beauty started to unfold where there was once only pain.

My past does not define me, but I know the challenges I have been blessed with in this life are so I can empower others  with the knowledge that all we have to do is look inside for the answers.

That is what yoga does for you.  It strips away what is not real, replaces it with Love, and gives you back what you truly are at your core, your spirit.

Aloha Hawaii Retreat 2016

Amy Booth and Bec Simpson

March 18, 2016 - March 23, 2016

Join us for 5 luscious nights in Hawaii!

About the Facilitator(s)

Amy Booth
Amy believes everyone has the right to feel happy and healthy. She is passionate about fitness being a lifestyle, which provides people with the tools to achieve their goals physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

Amy’s early life involved movement, playing lots of different sports and competing in various styles of dancing including Ballet, Physical Culture, Ballroom and Latin American and Sports Aerobics. Now a keen traveller, Amy reignited her love of dance by participating in Rio Carnaval, Brazil in 2013.

Involved in fitness since 1998, Amy is a qualified group exercise instructor, Personal Trainer, Pilates and Yoga instructor. Amy has completed training in aqua, Pilates mat work and reformer, pre and post natal exercise, exercise for rehab, personal training, Zumba and TRX suspension. She is also a level 2 attuned Reiki practitioner and a Marma Massage therapist.

The addition of yoga to Amy’s repertoire has special significance. After years in the fitness industry, it became evident to Amy that there was more to being “fit” than just the physical. Searching for something to develop her own mental and emotional strength, she discovered yoga and used it to help her through various personal health battles including depression and migraines.

Amy completed yoga teacher training in the magical Baja Peninsular in Mexico with Yandara Yoga Institute. The 200 hour intensive course blended Hatha, Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga. This course involved over ten different teachers from all over the world, different backgrounds, styles and ages, including Reiki masters, astrologers and musicians. This course changed Amy’s life on so many different levels.

Bec Simpson
Drawn to creative movement from a young age, Bec was involved in dance and acrobatic classes. This is where her love of movement began. She enjoyed exploring the capabilities of the body and recognizing the positive effects movement also has on the mind.

For Bec, yoga started over ten years ago as a casual love affair, a way to ease body tension and cope with a stressful work life. Yoga quickly weaved its way into her daily life and became a lifelong dedication. Now as a mum to little boys Sonny Ray and Banjo she understands that living yoga is not just about what happens on your mat but is about living consciously, nourishing the body and finding time everyday to connect with one’s natural state.

Bec believes to be a great teacher you must be a great student and thus her study of yoga continues as a process of self study (svadhyaya). She qualified as a yoga teacher in 2007 after completing a year long part time training course with Akash and Adam Bornstein from Radiant Light Yoga. She began teaching after completing the course and since this time has carried on further studies including “Yoga Therapy Training” and “Radiant Child Teacher Training”. More recently she has studied training modules with Being Yoga, in “Active Birth” and “Advanced sequencing”.

Bec’s classes are focused around “creative flow” and directing energy to awaken the natural energy flow (prana). Students are guided in a fun and relaxed manner to explore their own expression of yoga. You don’t have to be experienced to reap the benefits. She encourages students to practice with ease and body wisdom believing that you adjust the pose to the person not the person to the pose. It is her aim to cater to the individual with the intention of creating a safe and nourishing environment for her students.

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage Retreat 50 NCBTMB hours

Carrie Rowell and Nile Curtis

About the Facilitator(s)

Carrie Rowell spent her childhood in Oahu and has been fascinated by all aspects of the Hawaiian culture ever since. She has studied various forms of dance and martial arts and has trained with 10 different Hawaiian masters of the healing arts over the last 16 years. She brings the best techniques from many Hawaiian lineages together into a unique and powerful training.

Since 1998 she has traveled the world teaching Lomi Lomi, sacred dance and women’s workshops. She is a continuing education provider in several countries and her style is fun and technical with an emphasis on hands-on work.

Nile Curtis began his career in massage 13 years ago with a focus on deep tissue as a chiropractic assistant.  His extensive dance training allows him to embody the grace inherent in Lomi Lomi.  Since 2005 he has assisted Carrie’s classes around the globe.  When not traveling the world they live and practice in Paauilo with their 4-year old daughter.
