Jim Berenholtz is a multifaceted artist who has been training with native cultures in the living wisdom of the Earth for over thirty years.
Whether as musician or dancer, writer or speaker, painter or photographer, ritualist or bodyworker, he is devoted to bringing forth the organic intelligence that is natural to our species and forging a passionate blend of arts and activism, thereby celebrating unity in diversity and building bridges for peace.

Maxwell is a massage therapist, dancer, poet, musician, artist and world-traveling yogi. He was first introduced to yoga by his mother when he was a young child and has been interested in alternative medicine and healing arts ever since.
He has studied with different teachers around the world such as Kathy Elder, Shiva Rea, Lino Miele and Duncan Wong. He received his yoga teacher training certificate in 2003 at Kalani Honua in Hawaii. He is influenced by many different styles of yoga and martial arts such as: hatha yoga, ashtanga yoga, yin yoga, vinyasa yoga , restorative yoga , capoiera, tai chi, and Kuk Sol Korean Buddhist martial arts. He spent five months travelling India deepening his practice of yoga.
Dennis agrees with Pattabhi Jois' statement in the movie Enlighten Up that the main goal of yoga is to discipline the mind. Dennis feels that Kundalini Yoga is one of the most effective, fun and quickest methods to practice the art of disciplining the mind.
His approach is gentle and focuses on opening up the energy centers in the body with Kundalini Yoga exercises. He has studied with Kundalini master Gurmukh and completed Yogi Bhajan's Kundalini Teacher Training. His classes are invigorating, grounding, intuitive, fun and leave you feeling centered, calm and smiling.
jaRed has been learning, deepening and sharing his yoga flow practice at Kalani for the past eight years. He first discovered his yoga body through the primary series with Pamela Richardson in the summer of '97. He graduated from Kathy Elder's original yoga teacher training class in 2001 and has since deepened his understanding of teaching vinyasa flow yoga through intensives with Duncan Wong and Shiva Rea.
He has felt honored and inspired by the teachings of Shiva, Kathy, Duncan, Saul David Raye and many others. He continues to hold a sacred space for breath, gratitude, yoga and love in his weekly classes at Kalani Oceanside Retreat.
According to the ancient Hawaiian Huna philosophy, all illness is a result of stress. Modern medical research continues to prove this relationship – linking stress to everything from high blood pressure to weight gain.

Ann founded Hawaii Health Getaways after she learned how traditional Hawaiian mind-body healing techniques were beneficial both with stress management and as an adjunct to any medical regimen. As the Clinical Director of the Alta Bates Summit Diabetes Center in Berkeley, California, she successfully incorporates stress management and energy medicine techniques taught at the retreat into clinical practice. She will present information on the latest medical advances as well as complementary therapies available to promote wellness.
Annie has a Masters of Science in holistic nutrition and exercise physiology. She is certified in personal fitness training, aerobics, meditation, biofeedback and yoga therapy. She will be teaching a gentle and meditative form of Ananda Yoga, with the focus of higher awareness and inner peace. President of Choose Total Wellness and owner of the Sacred Garden Yoga Studio in Half Moon Bay, California, she has been a wellness consultant for the American Heart and Lung Associations, and the Health Departments of Monterey County and the State of Hawaii.
Serge is an internationally acclaimed teacher of the ancient Huna philosophy and author of numerous books including Urban Shaman, Kahuna Healing, Instant Healing, Healing for Millions and Healing Relationships. He is the Executive Director of Aloha International, a world-wide network of teachers, counselors and therapists dedicated to sharing the Aloha Spirit and healing knowledge of Huna. Through Serge and other Huna teachers, you will learn simple, practical mind-body techniques than anyone can use to relieve tension and bring greater health and harmony into their lives.
Diane, a shamanic counselor trained with Aloha International, will introduce you to the Huna philosophy and healing techniques, Kahi Loa bodywork and the management of stress through breathwork, visualization and healing touch. My connection to Hawaii and the spirit of Polynesia comes from a twenty year history of paddling outrigger canoes. Through my many travels to Hawaii, I have had the opportunity to discover the magic of the Polynesian Islands and peoples. In essence the spirit of the islands is "Aloha", which means to be kind, nurturing and loving to yourself, to others and to the planet.
The creation of "`Ohana Yoga" comes from blending this 'magic' and 'spirit' into my own unique style of teaching. Gena has also authored a book and dvd "The Gift of Yoga".
