Travel options: Hawai`i is the Aloha State’s largest, most spectacular and least crowded island, with 2 major airports – Hilo and Kona. Because Hilo (the State’s second largest city) is just a 45 minute drive to Kalani, we recommend that you route through Honolulu to Hilo. If you are not renting a car, Kalani provides a shuttle from/to Hilo airport only. Fee each way is reduced to $40 for conference participants. There are direct flights to Kona, however you must rent a car for the 3 hour drive to/from Kalani, which provides opportunity to view the verdant northern or vast southern land-and-seascapes.

Joule L’adara is a classically trained vocalist whose music integrates western and eastern spiritual traditions utilizing extended vocal techniques. She is a Sound Healing and Reiki practitioner, holding an MFA in Multi-Focus Vocal Performance and Integrated Media from California Institute of the Arts, a BFA in Acting, and a Diploma in Audio Engineering. She has sung in Carnegie Hall, The Metropolitan Opera, and professional musical theatre and opera companies in the United States and in Europe. Jared Sam
Jared has been living, deepening and sharing his yoga flow practice on the Big Island of Hawaii for the past seven years. Originally from the foothills of southern British Columbia, Jared first discovered his resonance with the practice ten years ago through the classic Ashtanga series. Jared received his certification to teach hatha yoga in the fall of 2001 through Kalani's Yoga Teacher Training program. He has felt blessed to be able to also study the art of teaching Vinyasa yoga with Shiva Rea, and has recently been inspired by the teachings of Darren Main, Kathy Elder and Tyler Blank.
Dennis Dehler
Dennis moved to Hawaii in 2001 to study, practice and teach yoga. He began his Kundalini practice with Gurmukh in 2001, the same year he completed Kalani's Teacher Training and Don and Amba Stepelton's Interdisciplinary Yoga Training. He has since completed Yogi Bhajan's Self Mastery Kundalini Training program and loves teaching Kundalini Yoga at Kalani Oceanside Retreat Center.
Mathew Mercury
Matthew first moved to the Big Island in 1999. He studied yoga at Kalani under Kathy Elder and graduated from Kalani's Yoga Teacher Training 2002. He also holds a Thai Massage Teachers Certificate. His personal practice integrates massage, partner yoga, and yoga theory as well as a spiritual connection to Hawai'i.
Reorient to the fulcrum of your heart as the center of your life. Renew your connection to stillness and silence as the basis of all movement. Allow yourself to resource from the wellspring of health that is already alive within you. Through the hands on practice of Biodynamic Cranial, embodiment practices on land and in warm natural water, we will cultivate an environment where the intimate embrace of our awareness is the alchemist. Utilizing intrinsic movement, breath, sound, inquiry and subtle attunement meditations we will slow down and allow a return to our natural rhythms.

David Lewis, LMT

Saffire Bouchelion is a Black Belt Nia instructor who has passionately practiced Nia for over 15 years, a professional performer and musician, is currently touring Amsterdam, Paris, Australia, Bali and New Zealand, co-founder of two experimental dance companies and founder of SHAMANTRA a deep sacred play designed to help us remember the natural, joyous rhythms of our collective hearts and voices. Drumming, vocal sounding and ecstatic dance highlight his unique brand of somatic healing work.

Brynn Rybacek is a National Yoga Alliance certified instructor (E-RYT) and has been teaching for over 7 years at yoga studios, athletic clubs, and gyms. Steve Velez is Founder & Artistic Director for Da Capo Players. He received his musical education at the University of California Irvine. His recent television appearances include the Travel Channel, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Pepsi commercials, MTV Music Video's, NBC's West Wing and Frasier. Steve performs regularly with The Mozart Classical Orchestra, Opera Pacific, Orange County Symphony, Disneyland Candlelight Orchestra and the Crystal Cathedral Symphony. Steve was also the Principal Cellist for the "Beatlemania Classical Mystery Tour" at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, and can also be seen playing cello in the movies Get Smart and I Love You Man. Lee Kix
